Since the debut of the in-car 8-cell (9.6 V) battery, we have been receiving more and more inquiries regarding the use of 8-cell batteries. Both the A-07V Series and RAPIDA Series support the 8-cell battery (Ni-Cd/Ni-MH).
(Instruction manuals and other documentation may often say "6-cell battery only". This is because 6-cell batteries are the norm for ESCs used with radio controlled cars.)
KEYENCE speed controllers are to be used exclusively with RC cars.
KEYENCE will not be held responsible for any damages resulting from the use of a KEYENCE speed controller for any other purposes,
Note that the A-07 Series, ZERO Series, A-01 Series, and A-191 Series do not support the 8-cell battery; they support only the 6-cell battery as in the past.
About the EXSTRAIGHT and A-07V Series
Using the 8-cell battery requires a separate power supply for the receiver.
When using the 6-cell battery, use the servo power wire (the yellow wire) attached to the controller. (A separate power supply is not required.)
About the RAPIDA Series
It is not necessary to change the wiring or use a separate power supply, even if you are using a 6-cell or 8-cell battery, or even a servo with high consumption current.
* Note that due to minimum voltage requirement issues, using a battery with a voltage lower than 7.2 V (a 6-cell battery) results in unstable operation and could cause a malfunction.
